About THOR
In this musical and dance performance, the worlds of music and dance merge into a powerful whole. THOR tells the story of the Norse god Thor, his wonder hammer Mjöllnir, and his adventures with the fire spirit Loki. Expect a swirling mass of forces of nature, feasting and epic battle - a performance in which disciplines blur and a thrilling tale of power, deception and friendship takes center stage.

The Ballet Orchestra and ISH Dance Collective have been collaborating for years on innovative family performances that seamlessly blend dance and music. With productions such as Creatures, a visual journey through evolution, and Nachtraven, a recognizable journey through the nighttime, they show how urban dance, hip-hop and acrobatics combine beautifully with the rich sounds of a symphony orchestra. This unique collaboration connects disciplines and creates performances that amaze and inspire young and old alike.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for talented dancers who:
- Have a strong foundation in hip-hop styles: breaking, popping and locking.
- Have an affinity for musical theater and are open to working with live musicians.
- Are collaborative and see working together as an essential part of the creative process.
- Be able to work independently and possess a strong sense of personal responsibility.
- Be creative and have artistic skills in dance, theater, music, improvisation/composition.
- Be available during the periods for rehearsals and the tour:
- April 21, 2025 - May 16, 2025 (rehearsals).
- May 19, 2025 - May 26, 2025 (assembly and performance days)
- November 12 - November 25, 2025 (assembly & feature days)
- May 6, 2026 - May 25, 2026 (assembly & feature days)

Practical information auditions
The audition consists of one round. One week before the audition day you will receive a creative assignment with an excerpt on which you have to prepare a solo. On the audition day itself you will not only perform this solo, but you will also be challenged to participate in a group choreography.

- Date and time audition: January 23, 2025, from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm.
- Location: Podium Lely, Schipluidenlaan 10 in Amsterdam
- Sign up: you can sign up for the auditions until January 6, 2025 at the latest. On January 16, 2025 you will receive a response to
- your application and you will hear whether you are invited for the auditions including the creative assignment you have to prepare.
