About ISH Dance Collective

ISH has been bringing hip-hop dance and urban sports to theatre for 20 years. In the performances, we connect these disciplines with traditional art forms such as ballet, theatre and classical music. This is because we believe in interesting crossovers. ISH is a collective of dissenters and makes dance out of elements that not everyone would immediately label as dance. ISH Dance Collective targets a broad, young and diverse audience. Exploring new paths and investing in young generations is deep in our DNA.

Besides performances, there is also the ISH Academy, ISH Community and ISH Talent with programmes aimed at children and young people, new professional talent and the hip-hop community. ISH Dance Collective has its own studio in Podium Lely in Amsterdam Nieuw-West, where various activities take place, such as the lessons of the ISH Academy, the Open Stage and rehearsals of new performances.

The education team of ISH Dance Collective is looking for an enthusiastic intern education and community (x/m/f) from September 2024.

Who are we looking for?

You are studying at an MBO, HBO and/or WO level
You have organisational and/or production talent.
You are communicative, enterprising and a go-getter.
You have an affinity with (hip-hop) dance, urban sports and/or culture.
You enjoy working in a team.
You are proactive and work in a structured way.
You have a good command of Dutch and English.

What will you do?

You will rotate in the organisation's education and community team. The team consists of a Head of Education and Community, an education officer and freelance teachers and producers. You will be involved in the activities taking place in schools and in our studio, such as classes for children and young people and the talent programmes. You will work, in collaboration with colleagues, on the following activities:

Assist in the development and implementation of lessons, talent pathways and other activities.
Supervising and taking care of the teachers
Supervise and take care of the children and young people supporting ISH Academy and ISH Community performances
Creating content for social media, such as reels, Tiktoks and story reports.
You will attend activities such as performances, jams, open stages, demos and classes of the ISH Academy to create content for social media.

An internship allowance of 350 euros per month (based on 36 hours).
A travel allowance (if you live outside Amsterdam and have no OV student travel product)
