Meliani opens Podium Lely
Amsterdam, June 26, 2023 - ISH Dance Collective's new venue, Podium Lely, was opened Friday night by Touria Meliani, Alderman for Art and Culture of the City of Amsterdam.
The alderman took her seat behind the turntable and amid loud applause from many dancers and guests, she opened Podium Lely with a push of a button.
For more than 25 years we have been building a community for (hip-hop) dance and talent development with ISH. From now on we have our own place where everyone can come together, discover dance skills and their own style and learn to think creatively.
In Podium Lely last Sunday there was an Open Day of the ISH Academy where kids aged 6-12 could follow free workshops in hip-hop, breakdance and rollerskating. To end the day, there was a real roller disco for the kids.
ISH offers programs in Podium Lely that focus on new creators (ISH Talent), young people (ISH Academy) and the wider community (ISH Community). Podium Lely is located at Schipluidenlaan 10 in Amsterdam Nieuw-West.
